Assistant Green

Idiom Creak, a samplistic breakbeat collage-artist, brings a crystal clear, roughneck style of  production to the sulty vocal renderings of bay area-underground rap hero
Kirby Dominant. The very “green” result of this collaboration is Assistant Green.
Sonic architect says “Idiom Creak is the most intriguing act from Davis since
 DJ Shadow."
 Sacramento News and Reviews
“Kirby Dominant’s gift is balancing knowledge and theory with clarity and emotion.  Keeping his messages accessible with penetrating humor, and  his keen eye.  A natural talent, it’s a miracle you didn’t."

Two Playa Game

Jayme Bechtel of The Oak Leaf'online says. . .
Two Playa Game sounds like :Game Boy Beat Rock because Game Boy video game machines are an essential component to their sound. Here, these mad scientists sample, tweak, mix, and pretty much hot-rod Game Boy video game music. The end result is loud and very gritty. The staccato drumbeats are very militaristic and raise the tension throughout the show. The music is dark and twisted, for the majority of the sounds involved in video games only happen when you die or you kill something. The way X-Tra Man and Game Bwoy chose to not talk to the crowd or even have breaks during theirs songs only added more to the disturbed vision they are creating. Watch out for this band; these guys could be the next Ministry in regards to changing the current face of electronic music and how it is perceived by the mainstream.
Dusty Brown
Sacramento's own Dusty Brown have been a staple of the live music scene for over 8 years. With an electrifying live show, this brother and sister electronic duo have captivated audiences to critical acclaim, garnering many awards along the way. Their unique style of drum and bass-infused electronic folk pop blends organic textures with dance floor sensibilities resulting in beautifully crafted melodic soundscapes.

Doctor echo

Doctor echo’s underground sound attracts fans that range from ska/reggae lovers to punk and electronic heads. With mixes that are dark, sonic, sensual, and spiritual, his music puts the listener on a sedated matrix inner exploration. Inspired initially from the old school instrumental dub versions from Jamaica, doctor echo’s music frequently combines other styles such as downtempo, jazz, and electronica.

There is many more acts playing this night such as
CENOBITES for the drum & bass lovers
, also music from Sacramento’s own dub champ
DUBTEK throwing down some of his newest flavors of the month

after party  location will be announced at “result “
with a special performance from
Spank me naughty project
Also Mixing in some sweet sounds from
The Musical Drum Key (nexus stage live)
and  a rockin old school break beat dj set from
DJ Justin Roth

Hope you can all make it and help support the Vox gallery and your local Musicians and artist.
